- Hear tips from current students on how to succeed in and outside the classroom.
- Learn the different ways to get involved at UNO.
- Get connected with our email and Web services.
- Meet with other new and current students.
- Become familiar with the availability of different campus services and resources.
- Get your Mavcard (student ID)
- In most cases, you will meet with an advisor from your college and register for Fall classes.
- Optional housing tours will be available at the end of Orientation.
Registration for Fall 2012 New Student Orientation will begin in March 2012.
Freshman and Transfer Orientation sessions run from May through August.

- Your Orientation confirmation letter
- NU ID# and password
- A photo ID such as a driver's license, government or state issued ID, military ID or passport for your Mavcard (student ID).
- If you took any AP or Dual Enrollment classes in high school, please bring unofficial transcripts from the educational institution
(community college or university) that offered the classes to your academic advising appointment. Official transcripts will need to
be sent directly from the educational institution to UNO.
Orientations are intended for students only.
We will have separate Orientation sessions for parents and families that specifically address the needs of families of new UNO students.
These sessions run concurrently with a New Student Orientation program. For more information on Parents programs or to register for a session,
please click on the
Parents tab at the top of this page.
In most cases, you will register for classes when you meet with your advisor during orientation. If you want to change your major you must do so a week
prior to attending orienation.
Parking information will be included in your confirmation letter.
Please go to the Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom located on the 2nd floor.
