Parent orientation sessions are offered at every freshman student orientation listed here
. This includes honors orientation, and Thompson Learning Community orientation. We encourage parents to attend orientation the same day as their student in order to get the most out of your and your student's day! Parent orientation is not offered on the same day as Transfer students orientation.
The fee for guests is $15 per person, and is non-refundable. If you need to change the date of your Orientation session, that can be done at no charge.
The program fee directly offsets the costs associated with the program including space, staffing, meals, beverages, and materials.
The Parent Orientation program is self-supporting and receives no funding from either the University or the state.
We believe the shared experiences you will have by attending Orientation on the same date as your student is very valuable.
We encourage you to try to make arrangements to be here with your student on the same day. If you are unable to attend on
the same date, then you can attend a Parent Orientation anytime during the summer.
Students and Parents will be together at the beginning of the day, can meet up again during lunch if they choose, and will reconnect at the close of the program.

If needed, students can make changes to their schedules at any point after advising is completed, although it is strongly recommended that your
